So with 3 days to go until the start of rAge 2009, I thought I would give you guys a sneak peak at the setup of the expo and the LAN area. As Friday draws near the exhibitors are scurrying to fortify their stands to defend them against the hordes of people with a lust for technology, waiting to get their hands on as many freebies as possible. So without further ado…
1st Tier Defence
As you can see, one of the early strategies was to erect a LAN area to keep 1800 gamers distracted from pretty much the rest of the world… Who needs food or drinks or even sleep for that matter when you have 1799 other people to leech from, let alone play games. I wonder how many PC stores made money off hard drives only for this event?!
Another good strategy was the quick upgrade to the rAge branded grand stand. I thought this was quite an interesting move so early in the game. I would have cleared the creep around the area first.
rAge Branded Stand
The stand area is bound to keep some people busy, giving them an area to sit while watching in awe as some of the best gamers in South Africa show off their gaming prowess.
As you can see in the last two pictures of the post, stalls are being built to generate income and keep potential technology lusted fans from going home with money in their wallets. You’ll note that these stalls are still in tier 1 phase. Come Friday you can expect to see these stalls at, at least tier 3 and fully upgraded. Some of the advantages of upgraded stalls include hands-on time with some of the latest games and sexy booth babes.
