Blackberry Storm2, might take SA by storm

Blackberry Storm2

Blackberry Storm2

BlackBerry are taking South Africa by storm, and they could be doing this quite literally with the new BlackBerry Storm2. Like the first version of the Storm2, it is fully touch-screen keeping as few buttons on the phone as possible. I must admit, I quite like the look of it.

BlackBerry have also introduced a new SurePress technology on the Storm2 which gives feedback when the touch-screen is pressed. The screen also has multi-touch meaning that using Shift or Alt-key combinations are easier and allows typing on the screen to be faster and more efficient.

The 3.25″ touch-screen does make the phone look neat (I’m not a fan of buttons) and has a maximum resolution of 360 x 480. It supports HSDPA and has a built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi receiver. So far so good, a good looking phone with connectivity.

The next on my important features list is a camera. The Storm2 comes with a 3.2MP camera which is not the greatest out of all the phones but it does have a flash which a phone like the HTC Hero lacked. You can store all your multimedia on the 2 GBs of onboard memory although it can be upgraded to 16 GB with a MicroSD/SDHD card.

The phone also has a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack and dedicated volume controls which makes it great for playing your favourite tracks straight from the phone. Expect the 280 hours of battery standby time and 6 hours of talk time to be decreased by this.

These phones are junk, suppose to be the iPhone killer instead it turned out to be the Blackberry reputation killer. I have had 2 already and both have huge touch screen issues.
MTN being their useless self has had this phone for weeks on end at a time and just cant seem to give me a problem free replacement handset. Google the problem and see for yourself. Dont waste your money on this phone!!!!
