Modern day fiber optic undersea cable laying
We put up a video last week about laying cables almost 30 years ago. The process was old and the cable that was used was pretty terrible compared to what we are doing now. This video shows what man is achieving now.

Here we see an animation of an undersea cable being repaired. Something similar would have been done when the SEACOM cable went out a few weeks ago.

This last animation will give you an idea of how the actual laying of the cable is done. Pretty interesting to think that this has been done on both the entire west and east coast of Africa.
